The Problem
Tasmania Parks & Wildlife Service wanted to formalize pedestrian pathways at The Nut State Reserve in Tasmania’s North-West, to improve public safety and protect conservation areas.
The Solution
Diamond Grid was laid as pathways, which was progressively back filled with gravel from the edges of the grid to avoid wind lift. The public enjoyed walking on the new pathways and found the comfort and security of footing vastly improved over the original surface.
Install Overview
1. The product was lifted in via helicopter
2. The ground was prepped using a geofabric underlay
3. Diamond Grid was installed quickly in large sections, with a technique to permit curvature, negotiating sharp direction changes
4. Once laid, the product proved to be robust and enjoyable for the public to walk on
